I call home to the land of the Chumash. The Chumash are Native American people who historically inhabited the central and southern coastal regions of California, in portions of what is now San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Los Angeles counties, extending from Morro Bay in the north to Malibu in the south.

Izumi’s vision is to wed mindful living with the built environment, and ultimately create thriving communities that promote health and resiliency for all of us as well as our planet.

Izumi was introduced to the world of sustainably designed homes while working as an architectural photographer. An assignment with a premier prefab company committed to sustainability inspired her to learn about regenerative design.

After working in her husband’s real estate business for nearly 15 years, she got licensed in 2017 and acquired the designation of “GREEN Realtor®” by the National Association of Realtors. She received accreditation as a LEED Green Associate also certified as GreenPoint Rated Advisor, and recently obtained Living Future Accreditation (LFA).

Growing up in Japan in the industrialization period with a family who embraced the culture of respecting nature, Izumi watched her natural environment slowly disappear. After living in Westside Los Angeles for almost 40 years, she felt the need to get out of the city and she moved to her weekend home during the pandemic in the mountain community of Los Padres National Forest. There, she recharges daily in the healing energy of the mountains.

Izumi is committed to educating city and suburban dwellers in living mindfully to honor our natural resources.

Her vision is to wed mindful living with the built environment, and ultimately create thriving communities that promote health and resiliency for all of us as well as our planet. As an influencer in the real estate industry, she promotes the benefits of green home living. As a green home advisor, she helps owners improve their home’s efficiency and comfort whether they stay or sell. As a GREEN realtor®, she helps buyers find homes with green potential and regenerative features. As a flipper, she transforms homes into healthy living environments.

Izumi has practiced Vipassana meditation for over 20 years and she teaches at InsightLA. She is currently in the Buddhist Eco-Chaplaincy program with Sati Center for Buddhist Studies. This bridges her work in real estate with her passion for regenerative living. Izumi is also a member of USGBC-LA. She is a co-chair of newly launched Green Home Committee and active with Women In Green Committee.
