Land acknowledgement

I reside in the Upper Mississippi River Basin Watershed near the confluence of the Mississippi and Minnesota Rivers. This is the traditional, ancestral, and contemporary lands of the Dakota, having great historical and traditional significance to many Indigenous tribes. This land was ceded in Treaties in 1837 and 1851. The confluence of rivers, known by the Dakota as Bdote, is considered to be a sacred place of creation.

I am, first and foremost, a human in training on a ceaselessly humbling exploration of how to live in greater relationship with self, others, and the built + natural environment.

Garrett seeks to integrate and leverage his experience in environmental stewardship, community oriented housing models, and emergence coaching into a regenerative real estate practice in service of life flourishing on this planet.

Prior to diving head first into the wild world of real estate, Garrett spent a decade working to improve access to healthy food, agricultural land, and garden + farm education while working in the nonprofit sector of community based food systems as an urban farmer, land steward, educator, and policy advocate. During this time, Garrett lived and worked on a 30-acre community land trust with a certified organic farm, community garden, youth garden, food forest, restored prairie, and a co-housing community.

Garrett’s experience also extends to affordable, ecologically sustainable, and community oriented housing models. Having lived in and served on the board of directors of both a nonprofit network of cooperative houses as well as a co-housing community, Garrett developed an intimate appreciation for alternative housing models, cooperative decision making, and innovative land stewardship.

While living and working in community, Garrett came to the realization that the positive change he sought to effect in his life, community, and world was only as possible as the extent to which he was willing to engage in his own internal transformation. This led Garrett to explore multiple modalities of personal and spiritual development. Along this journey, Garrett completed a graduate program in Transformational Leadership + Coaching, diving deeply into the process of personal transformation rooted in social + emotional awareness.

Garrett is honored to be working with his colleagues at Latitude in building the field of regenerative real estate. He looks forward to hearing from you and learning how he can support you in your journey of regeneration.
